A thimbleberry is a rare, delicate wild berry, resembling a thimble in shape and part of the rose, blackberry, and raspberry family.

With its bright red color and soft, tart sweetness, it’s a hidden gem in our woods—just like the Thimbleberry Castle House!

"The Castle was an absolutely gorgeous place! It is so spacious and had everything we needed for our stay. There were 9 of us total and the Castle gave us all plenty of personnel space and shared space! Being right on Lake Michigan made for gorgeous sunrises and some fun exploring-the shoreline is very rocky which can be hard to navigate if you have mobility issues. Location is just a short drive to explore all that Door County offers! We will definitely be back to Door County and will book the Castle again!"

"We had a truly wonderful stay at the Castle House in Bailey's Harbor. The house is gorgeous and was perfect for our large extended family. The kitchen is huge and well appointed. Plenty of space for family dinners and hanging out. The bedrooms, beds and bathrooms were clean and comfortable. We loved that the house was located on the lake, but was secluded yet close to all activities in Door County. We enjoyed exploring the rocky beach and walking on the hiking trail nearby. Highly recommend the Castle House!"
